Dear Potty:

"Dell is fairly valued at $55."

Since you are new to the thread you probably don't know that we usually expect documentation for such remarks. We wait breathlessly!

Phil

Potty Time, your name is appropriate considering your idiotic prediction about DELL.

Please don't activate your membership permanently. You have nothing to offer with worthless garbage like that.

Regards,

LoD

<< Dell is fairly valued at $55. >>

If you think that is fair I've got a loaf of bread I'll sell you for $20.00.

Both YHOO and DELL have a book value of ~$2.50 and are trading at ~40X and ~80X that respectively. Are you people crazy?

Now that I've finished loading up I'll point you to CMND a consulting company that is currently trading at book value. They IPO'd in March at $14 went up to $18 and then dropped to $4 after the original underwriters (who don't have a clue) dropped their rating from buy to hold. The reason they did that is because the company announced that they were gearing up to do other consulting work beyond their Y2K efforts. The announcement made perfect sense to me the Y2K work is going to hold up for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years but then what? But the underwriters are only thinking about today and figured they were in trouble or something.

Something seems to be up though because the stock took a spike up from it's current trading range last week. The story was something was coming because the company started a major employee recruitment campaign. It fell back again so I've loaded up (margined to the hilt).

Anyway if you're looking for someplace to move your assets while this slide continues then check out CMND. I'm sure you'll be able to find the same info I did.

Robin

<<Dell is headed to $55. After the internet bubble breaks, everything will be carried along
on the down side. Dell is fairly valued at $55.>>

Potty Time, welcome to Silicon Investor!

Potty time?.....Are you the Head Project Manager at some cat litter factory? Sounds to me that with predictions like this, you should stay away from sharp objects and stick to your day job.

JMHO

ps love the alias, though!

What is the logic for DELL (or any other non-Internet stock) to be dragged down if YAHOO, etc starts to "tank" since none of them benefited from the rapid rise in the past week. In my humble opinion I think the opposite may occur...people looking to get out will want to place their "bucks" into the stocks which have proven to be stable, long term investments. You may be right..but I just don't see a relationship between the two segments from an investors perspective. It would be like paint stocks "tanking" and dragging down the automotive industry with them...they just are not that related.
