>AMD releases earnings tomorrow and Intel releases earnings next week. That should give us a better picture of whether this Intel turkey can fly.

I have been long and accumulating INTC for a lot of years. It has been very, very good to me. I am beginning to wonder if I have blinders on, however. Perhaps the dynamics of the CMPQ/DEC merger are more influential on INTC than I realized. Perhaps AMD will continue to eat away at INTC's market share.

I think I will stay long on INTC for a few more quarters. I gotta believe that MERCED will create new markets for INTC, with XEON as the missionary product in this new upscale market. I dumped SUNW a few months back because of this line of thinking. (logical conclusion: SUNW loses UNIX marketshare; INTC gains that share.)

Pardon my rambling, but I have a load of pent up angst about INTC.
