Thanks for the information. I am also going to check out the TA on this one. My wife works at the customer service center at HP in Boise and they use Search'97. She says that it is frustrating sometimes, but she thinks they are still setting it up and getting everything into it.

Thanks for the heads up,

Eric

Things are going great. Going back on the road Saturday so I am trying to find some stocks I don't need to babysit. So far I have AINN, AIRM, APCO (buy order in lower 9s), CADE (possible), AILP (possible), VRTY (possible)

RE: VRTY
also noticed that they signed on with SAP recently. For those who do not know SAP they are a powerhouse in the corporate software industry. I don't know what the actual numbers are but I believe they control over 60% of the market for their field

SAP Embeds Special Version of Verity Information Server in R/3 Version 4.0b; Verity Announces Special Information Server Upgrade for R/3 Customers
Business Wire - June 25, 1998 16:23
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 1998--Verity, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRTY), a leading provider of knowledge retrieval solutions for the enterprise and Internet, today announced that SAP has integrated Verity's Information Server into Version 4.0b of SAP's R/3 system and shipped that version to 8,000 customers.

This new version of R/3, the industry's leading ERP system, shipped today to SAP customers in its English and German language versions. SAP also plans to ship versions of R/3 in twenty other languages, including Japanese.

Version 4.0b of R/3 includes a special version of Verity's advanced Information Server knowledge retrieval system. This version is specially designed to access all R/3 help files in the core SAP system, the primary documentation provided by SAP. Together, these files comprise more than 76,000 pages of information. Using Verity Information Server, SAP customers will have immediate access to a broad range of product support information from within the SAP system itself. The new search facilities are available for R/3 on Windows NT, HP/UX, Siemens Nixdorf SINIX, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, and Digital Unix operating systems.

Verity Offers Full Indexing and Search Upgrade to R/3 Customers

Verity also announced an upgrade for R/3 customers, Information Server for R/3, a full version of Information Server designed to index, search and retrieve all business information on corporate intranets maintained by R/3 users. Information Server for R/3 provides all Verity knowledge retrieval functionality including full text and metadata search, Verity's award-winning, concept-based search framework, Topics, and advanced search navigation including relevancy ranking, term highlighting, clustering, summarization and query by example.

Unlike the specially designed version of Information Server included with SAP R/3, the Verity upgrade allows full indexing and retrieval of all documents on a corporate intranet. Using the Information Server upgrade, R/3 customers will be able to search a broad range of corporate information resources including contracts, technical specifications, resumes, financial reports, operational reports, patents, policies and procedures, project plans and related materials which are key to an organization's internal operations.

"We are pleased to be expanding our relationship with SAP," said Anthony Bettencourt, Verity's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. "SAP customers will now enjoy the same kind of Verity-powered help facilities as those used by SAP's own internal support operations. And we believe that our new Information Server for R/3 upgrade will offer even more value, by allowing customers to index and search all documents supporting their R/3 environment."

This upgrade to full Verity Information Server functionality is being offered at a special introductory price through November 30, 1998. SAP customers interested in this upgrade are asked to contact Verity directly.

R/3 Version 4 -- the Latest in a Series of Verity Product Adoptions by SAP

The inclusion of Information Server within R/3 is the most recent adoption of Verity technology by SAP. The two companies have had a long history of technical and product partnership. SAP has been using Verity's CD Web Publisher product to provide information to customers on hybrid CD ROM and Web media, enabling self-help customer service for its R/2 product family. Verity's search engine (Verity Developer Kit) is also used internally to power SAP's R/3-ISS (R/3 Internal Service Systems). R/3-ISS is one of SAP's primary customer support systems used internally. Using Verity, SAP's support team makes more than 60,000 complex queries daily against a two hundred thousand record database of customer service issues, with a typical response of under one second per query. Verity's Information Server is also used as the primary information retrieval technology on SAP's external web site.
