YAWN!!! Patent suits are generally non-events. Just watch. Some time in the next few monthS PERI will counter-sue. The issues will get tossed around in court for about a year after which there will be a quiet settlement involving an exchange of patent rights and possibly some payment of back royalties by one party to the other, but nothing that will have a major effect on either company's bottom line. The only people who should care about these suits are the lawyers who make their living off of them. The only patent suit I ever saw that made any difference was the Polaroid suit against Kodak over instant photography. Polaroid won a BIG settlement & Kodak was forced to quit selling instant camersas & film. Notice that Kodak is still around, but I haven't even heard the name Polaroid in a few years.

LU is very litigous. More than anything else, I think they use these suits as a marketing tool to create doubt about a competitor's viability in the mind of potential customers.
