CSCO Split in Aug? Based on the previous history, it seems likely, eh? I am pretty confident that the earnings will be strong. CSCO has become the DELL of networkers, selling as much as they do through their web site.

I also wonder about CSCO v. LU. I looks as if both will win in the short, to medium term. Both are huge, strong, well run companies that either buy or develop great technology.

On a related note, anyone here follow QWST? I got in about two weeks ago at 29, which has worked out nicely (up to 38). They have this huge fiber optic cable backbone built right next to rail lines. Is this company going to get bought next? Any engineers in the audience care to comment on last-mile problems steming from QWST infrastructure?

How about ATHM? This company has its own nationwide backbone, and regional centers. Is this going to be the big winner in the ATT/ TCI merger. Judging by the stock price, it would appear so...
