The U.S. Navy has used submarines to test suborbital rocket weapons, but has not launched a satellite from a submarine.

Don't I recall, though, that the Navy (US) once maintained the operational capacity to launch communications satellites from ballistic missile subs?

To shed a little more light on things, GMH also cancelled an investor and analyst meeting until after reporting earnings on the 13th. Speculation is that they may not hit their number, for a variety of reasons.

The satellite in question did experience a failure of the spacecraft control processor, but it immediately switched to a backup, with no loss of service.

FWIW, Merrill cuts them to near-term accum, from buy, and leaves at long-term buy.

Thanks for the welcome guys, when do we get together and pour beer over my head?
