As long as we're speculating. Here's an optimist view

USB may be the feature that is built in to Zip250s and differentiates them from Zip100s. IF this is the case and IF they release in time for the holiday's with all those new iMacs and Win98 machines, then game over for HiFUD. The $149 price leads me to believe that we are looking at a Zip250 before the end of the year with Zip100 finally getting to the price points that they are a no-brainer addition/inclusion.
