isn't it usually a bullish sign for a stock when it can rebound back to where it opened, or go even higher?


It's bullish if it _closes_ the opening gap ... ain't gonna happen.

Yes it is important to get back to the open but what happens next is more so; is the open a sufficient barrier to act as resistance or will it become support for further movement? The question of the gap is an important one but given the unusual volatility, it would

The gap is important, but a gapping down could also be the sign of a reversal so the gap doesn't have to close up.

Any one of these that has no loss (or a minimal one) on the day will look good for tomorrow, notwithstanding the YHOO results. The problem might come today if the price backs away from the resistance and looks towards the lows again for support before the close.

Does TA still matter? Yes - it is the only barometer I have left for trying to work out what the heck is happening!
