ISn't it hard to drink champagne from a flute? Doesn't it come out the little holes before you can get it to your mouth? Here, use my flgelhorn. But keep the valves down or you'll make a mess.

I don't know why I wrote anything so silly.

Did you know that Abigail Adams' rosebush lived for two hundred years? For all I know, it still lives. It stopped bearing and then some relative transplanted it and it burst into bloom and celebrated the bicentennial.

The point being that roses may go through bad times, but they are very tough for all their apparent fragility. We're not as frail as we think.

I love the gentleness of DAR because I think that the oldtimers here are more in touch with their own vulnerability and more careful with others. Here is where I stop and smell the roses.

Last night I woke up at 3:00 am (I always wake up then and read for an hour or so) and the delightful book I picked up was Mama Makes Up Her Mind: and Other Dangers of Southern Living by Bailey White. If you haven't read her, PLEASE go take out, buy, whatever, her work! Her humor, warmth and writing style reminded me so much of you; I kept thinking jp would love this!!! Great characters, especially her Mama. Read it and get back to me!!!!!
