Paul,

There will be an oversupply of x86 CPU's in Q3. This will mean lower prices, lower margins, and lower profits for everybody.

IMHO, Intel will probably get hurt the least due to it's excellent operations, lower mfg. costs, and higher end CPU's. I still think however that margins will suffer, and profits will be reduced.

Are you of the judgement that Intels margins, and sales will NOT suffer and therefore the stock price will go UP and that the coming oversupply will not damage Intel.

regards,

Kash

Paul,

<AMD is destroying itself - NOT INTEL!>

Here are the facts.

INTC AMD CYRX
96Q1 0.51 0.18 0.10
96Q2 0.58 -0.26 -0.79
96Q3 0.74 -0.28 -0.36
96Q4 1.06 -0.15 -0.23
97Q1 1.10 0.09 0.33
97Q2 0.92 0.07 -0.27
97Q3 0.88 -0.22 -0.04
97Q4 0.98 -0.09 closes shop
98Q1 0.81 -0.39
98Q2 0.69 est -0.45
TOTAL 8.27 -1.50

BTW, given today's move on INTC what are the chances we
will be hearing from Tom Burlap tomorrow? My guess is
that he will reappear for certain if INTC crosses 80
in the next couple days.
