I spent quite some time browsing ZAP's web site and I love what I see! The site has great potential and it immediately reminded me of Yahoo when they were first starting out. I even dare say that they even have as much if not more potential than Yahoo does and here's why: - Zapata is already making money from their other business and has plenty of available cash to further develop their web site(s). - Starting Point is an very good search engine - Bibliofind is great. It's like Amazon.com but for used books. I just bought a book for $10 that would have been $25 at Amazon.com. - ChatPlanet is a very nice chat site. Not as good as some others I've seen but I'm sure they'll make improvements. - Great links! I found lots of cool stuff but there were also I bunch of links that were pretty useless and/or annoying. - They have a program called CyberGold were you order services from different companies (subscribing to magazines and stuff) and then ZAP gets a commission while the customer earn CyberDollars to spend on software and things. - Free email. Email is a good marketing tool because when you get an email from a person who has a Starting Point Email account there is a little advertisement at the bottom for the web site. - Personal Web Pages. Works great for Yahoo. Everyone I know has a personal web page. Starting Point doesn't offer them yet but I heard from their Webmaster that they are working on it and it will be very easy to use. Anyway, that's my opinion. But you know what they say...opinions are like a-holes; everyone's got one.
