DATA RACE ANNOUNCES DISMISSAL OF SHAREHOLDER LAWSUIT SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - (July 9, 1998) DATA RACE (Nasdaq National Market: RACE) today announced that in June 1998, the U.S. District Court approved the dismissal of the shareholder class action suit filed against the Company, In re Data Race, Inc. Securities Litigation, related to actions filed in 1995. This court action was a result of a successful mediation of the dispute during July 1997. During that mediation, the plaintiffs acknowledged in writing that, after investigation, they found no wrongdoing by the Company. The settlement terms are described in prior SEC filings by DATA RACE, including its 10K for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1997.
