Makes sense.

They did state that they were going to do this with part of the $35mil funding they got and at the stockholders meeting. I assume it's in a non-earthquake prone location.

What is interesting is that they are doing this with a carrier. This makes a lot of sense. I've been thinking that they might do this, but it was only a gut feeling.

I wonder how long we have to wait to find out who the carrier is and when they will launch? My gut tells me, FWIW, that it'll be by Oct.

Kind of odd timing for it, though. I wonder if there is
any information in the fact that they put this out in the
dead of night.

Actually, I've noticed they've been trending that way. I think they are trying to lessen the impact on their stock. JMHO.

Sea Otter, the rumor of an additional NOC may have merit, that being capacity.

From the GMGC web site:

"Portico is a friendly service that will eventually become an indispensable tool for your subscribers. So we built the system to handle heavy traffic. Our first Network Operations Center can serve more than 100,000 users; that's 100,000 people working smarter thanks to Portico. And the modular, scalable design makes additional capabilities a snap."

What Markman said at the shareholders meeting supports
your rumor. He said that they would most likely be
required by the carriers to build another NOC.
