Bell Labs averages about three patents a day. They do have a lot of substantial patents. That is nice. But IBM must average more, because I know that for the last two years at least IBM has been the number one company for patents. <eod> I also have heard that Lucent owns about 15% of Bay, any idea how this would affect the BAY/NORTEL acquisition? Uhh... I don't think so. I guarantee that whoever you heard that from is misinformed. I think that that would be a major issue in the merger if it was true and would have been written about more.
