Snip from WSJ on the subject:

In an emotional, sometimes tearful, interview Wednesday, the first since his ouster from the chief executive officer's post at Sunbeam Corp., Albert J. Dunlap, said that being fired by the appliance maker's board of directors last month has left him "personally, financially and professionally devastated."

The man who built his reputation as one of the country's meanest executives by eliminating thousands of jobs summed up his plight: He is a whipping boy and an easy target, not the ogre that detractors have made him out to be.

No comment necessary. Just enjoy the sweet irony.

Not exactly ironic but weirdly appropriate - AOL caused a massive traffic jam in the Twin Cities this morning when a hot air balloon bearing AOL advertising flew low over a freeway at rush hour. Thousands of commuters were unable to log onto I694 thanks to AOL.
