Trey,

Based on what I read, AMD's profits were hurt mostly by pricing pressures in microprocessors and weakness in flash memory and programmable logic devices. These are mostly computer related markets and I don't really see why it would hurt VLSI. AMD does have some chips for digital cordless phones but I don't think they have much of anything for the cellular market. Please correct me if I'm wrong since I'm not an expert on AMD's product line, but it seems to me that the main connection between AMD and VLSI is that they are both in the SOX. I see the two companies concentrating on very different market segments.

BTW, I came across some quotes in London as of 6:20 a.m. ET

AMD: 17 3/4 - 1/2
INTC: 78 - 5/16
MOT: 51 3/4 - 3/8
