Hi Harry. MOT's CC number is 402-220-9139 but is only good til 5PM today. You can access it thru the web by going to
mot.com ---->click on "financial data" & follow
the links from there.

>>>Was the weakness in sales in all divisions or were there some pockets of strength?

All sectors except LMPS(two-way radios & IDEN).

As far as AMD, I would ignore what AMD says about frame-relay mkt(assuming they said that since I have no idea where briefing.com got that comment). AMDis a me-too company across the board: processors, memory, PLDs, networking/telecom.....that's the problem with many of these tech companies. Some need to go under.

Look at the bottom of their press release where they mention product
line breakdown and decling sales of CPD, EPD, NPD, MP(Comm., Embeded, Netwking product, Memorry product).

biz.yahoo.com

Take care;

Clint

Hi Harry,

VTSS earnings tommorrow. The conference call number is
1-800-475-6701 , #396659. Let me know what they say if
you listen. They should give some clue to the health
of the wireless and landline telecommunications market,
cable infrastructure and networking.

Overall booking is very good for VTSS. Their datacomm business seems to be growing more than telecom. Split in revenue for the current quarter;

Current Quarter (Rev 46m) Next Quarter booking (58m)

Telcom 47% 46%
Datacomm 28% 30%
Test & Mea 25% 24%

Some Notes:

1) CSCO, SUNW, SEG were major customers in datacomm segment
2) LU (20%), ERICY major customers in telecom segment. Most of the demand is because of WDM's.
3) There were some push in's in the current quarter
4) 6 month rolling backlog remains at 93 mil.. no changes
5) As usual they trashed SiGe .... it is looking good only (and staying) in simulation for the last 2 years.
6) Bookings heavily relay on LU. They come in lumps. I lost my last CC notes so I am at a loss to compare the booking Vs. shipped trends.
7) They are going to aggressively participate in the low cost needs of cable infrastructure.

Later,

Suresh
