Tip, Not even close. They are talking about over a short period of time. Also, they gave away pcs and other equipment to get people to show up at the store, so the profit margin is nil on these giveaways. Once they figure they haven't won a prize, a lot of those blue boxes are coming back for a refund. You don't see anyone at the pc stores right now. I think this thing is scheduled to die on the vine.

There was a lot of hype about how MSFT was selling 250000 units of WIN98 per day. That works out to about $17 million assuming a wholesale price of $70. Annually that's 6.2 billion. And that's the biggest splash of the year for a $200,000,000,000 market cap company???????
