DRUDGE READER CALLS LARRY KING WIVES 'STUPID' KING CALLS DRUDGE READERS 'STUPID' On Wednesday afternoon CNN hotshot Larry King went public with comments that damned this space and its readers. Interviewed by radio host Ron Owens on KABC in Los Angeles and KGO in San Francisco, King stated that anyone who reads and quotes Matt Drudge "is stupid." "He's like a psychic... he makes thousands of predictions and when one accidentally comes true, everyone says he broke a story," barked King. The emotional outburst came after weeks of King privately trashing this report to CNN associates. Later on Wednesday, King threw more pastrami sandwiches, this time on his own talkshow. "I have never heard of Matt Drudge," King declared, this time, after a guest quoted a DRUDGE REPORT item on-the-air. King to guest Jonah Goldberg, son of the literary agent, Lucianne Goldberg: KING: Jonah, there was a wacky source, I won't even mention it. But if it's correct, at least verify it -- that your mother knows who wrote the Tripp talking points? GOLDBERG: I know who the source is that you're referring to, I think, which is Matt Drudge. KING: I have never heard of Matt Drudge... GOLDBERG: OK. That's fine. KING: But someone told me Matt Drudge. So immediately that checks out 98 percent wrong. GOLDBERG: This is one of my favorite things in this whole situation. People call up -- like people from "The New York Times" or even CNN will call up and say we have come to learn that... KING: No. I'm just asking you... GOLDBERG: ... blah, blah, blah, it turns out it's really Matt Drudge's... --------- Review. First Larry King declares on talkradio that anyone who reads and quotes the DRUDGE REPORT "is stupid." Then on his own show he pretends that he doesn't know who I am. Moments later, he declares that my reports are "98 percent wrong." But since he doesn't know who I am... One well-placed KING LIVE staffer on Wednesday could not confirm that King has ever read the DRUDGE REPORT, or if King has even spent time on the Internet! "No, I've never seen him on the computer... even near one," laughed the CNN employee. Calling Floyd Abrams! X X X X X
