Konehead, I come from Oracle apps engineering - the pick release and shipping stuff. I was hired out of Berkeley and left in 1994, I remember when Jeff Walker was still running apps. I did all the interfaces and logistics stuff for the Silicon Graphics Oracle ERP implementation in 1995-1996 and since then Ive been in scm transportation at Dell, etc. So boy am I mad at Oracle screwing up like they did in apps, there was no reason for it at all. After this Vntv mess Im wondering if the Oracle mgmt just can't get their hands around the applications business or something. Of course Tom Siebel doesnt seem to be having any problems.

But back on topic, yeah I know Applied Materials went with Oracle recently and if you ask me the mgmt is more excited about getting I2 in there than Orcl... thats kind of the problem. It took Sap a while but they finally determined that I2 was really running the show in some of their installations, one day Orcl might come to the same conclusions if they havent already. I agree an Orcl buyout of Manu right now is unlikely.

Well theres been a huge amount of noise about new customers for the last month - Nokia, Hydro Euro?, etc. how many more new customers can they sign? Momentum seems good here.
