Don't know if this helps, but in Merrill Lynch's report of 7/9/98, institutional ownership was listed at 27.2% ("Softburp" does not yet seem to rank as an "institution") . While keeping his near-term rating at "neutral" and long-term rating at "buy", ML analyst, Jonathan Cohen, raised a number of questions re. YHOO's current valuation e.g. YHOO trading at 33x 1999 revenues vs. AOL's 6x. Said he would reevaluate his opinion if there is a significant decline in YHOO share price.

Aloha and happy investing,

Da Z

I remember TK saying that oinstitutional ownership was 75% last quarter when Yahoo was in the high 90's. There must have been institutional buying after the Q1 report, but I've also read that the latest hysterical run, say from 160, was small lots.
