EU Files Anti-Dumping Charges Against Korean Semi-Conductor

07/10; 19:17

EU filed a suit against Korean semi-conductor companies on anti-dumping charges. European Electronic Component Association (EECA) suspected that Korean semi-conductor companies are dumping in the EU market. This filing of complaint by European EECA comes at a time when there was a conditional agreement between Korean semi-conductor companies and EECA in which Europe will stop filing complaints in return for Korea's co-operation in collecting the data.

Siemens is leading in the anti-dumping charges and a US company is also lending help to European companies. Micron of US opposes IMF aid to Korean semi-conductor companies. Chief reason for Siemens to file complaint is because the payability of semi-conductor has become worse.

Korean semi-conductor companies explained that it is not Korean but US or Taiwanese semi-conductor companies who are dumping in the European market. After investigation this fact will be disclosed. EU Executive Committee will reveal the content of the dumping charges within 45 days since the investigation began.
