JP, >>> I bought AMD on monday looking for an earnings related rally. I got the rally, but it came before the report. I think the report was reported very poorly, Most analysts expect the number to be way below their published number. But that was not in print so when the ## came out only 10-15% worse than what they really expected, it was reported as 2X as bad as they expected. <<< I understand that problem with the stocks that we pick to ride with, but as a financial advisor, the approach is far different that the approach that an individual investor can take, as you know all to well! But for a period of time now, you have consistently recommended AMD while belittling DELL. How do you answer your more knowledgeable investors if questioned about your choice of AMD over DELL as an instrument? It is true, and you will be correct, SOMETIME, that DELL will retrace its superb rise, but I don't think that the time is quite yet, and IMHO you have lost a tremendous opportunity for profits for both you and your investors! You, after all, were the winner of the last 'numbers' game ( what do you like now? ) and have stated over and over that DELL has been a great stock, but you think that it is overvalued at this time. Even if all of that were true, wouldn't you be better off to have your money invested in DELL, with 'stops' for possible losses, than sitting outside predicting the 'loss', - over and over - which hasn't happened? Even if the loss were to appear, which it well might, wouldn't a 'stop' order work? Sure you might lose a few points, as the order was executed, but after a 70 point runup, your net would still be >65 points! I recently went the 'diversify' route - again -, and my net 'loss' was 75 shares of DELL! That is the second time that I have done this, and the second time I have LOST. ($25K first time, $7.5K second time - well at least I getting better at losing LESS money!) Now, I admit that I am kinda' new at this stuff, since I got my NASD ticket in 1965 ( that is not a typo - it is 33 years AGO! NASD ticket LONG since LAPSED! ), I haven't seen the kind of consistent growth that both DELL and MSFT have demonstrated before. ( Of course, this is a different place and different time! ) Anyway, market up nicely for today (at this time!). Regards, Ken
