Dale ; That's what they said in July of 96..<G>
She was on her knees, nobody wanted her , & bleeding
profusely. Vultures were picking her bones,
they even had a funeral. Then like the phenix
it rose from the ashes, as if it had a dose of
viagra..
--------
But we don't have enough blood or vultures yet,
guess I'll have to buy calls, sells puts,
short it and wait.
Jim

Dale : Re: "AMD has been fatally wounded.
It is bleeding profusely.
It has about 6 mos to 1 yr to live.
Sorry, but there is nothing the doctor can do"

The Internal Carotid has been penetrated. A timely bulldog clamp will stanch the major hemorrhaging. However, since the Internal Carotid is the major vascular supply for the ipsilateral Cerebral Cortex, this will render that half of the brain ischemic. A saving grace could be the fact that it is not clear which Carotid (right or left) is affected, and whether AMD is right brain or left brain dominant (left handed or right handed). Not to mention the good possibility that AMD could still have quite adequate compensatory supply due to anastamotic filling from the contralateral Carotid via the Circle of Willis at the base of the brain.
