Pretty extreme statement, and I don't agree with it. To me that's like saying that an EKG is a marketing tool.

To me, running a technology trading account without technical analysis tools is like running a nuclear plant without gauges. If many of the Yahoo shorts had been using technical analysis they wouldn't have kept their damaging positions. They would have cut and run.

T/A can't save you from the unforeseen (though often it warns you that something good or bad is brewing), but it can keep you in or out when you need to be, and that's worth alot. Also, if you chart a broad universe of stocks, sector funds and indices, you can spot possible changes in trend developing early that holders of a few issues can't.

T/A got me into Yahoo last spring. T/A has me accumulating semiconductor stocks now.
