Mike,

"Savage3D gets even faster with latest drivers...Just when you thought Savage3D was at least slower in Quake II then V2, along comes the latest S3 drivers..."

So I guess your point here is that none of the other core designers will in the near term or in the future ever have improvements in their final core designs or in their drivers. Excellent.

"Hot games in the future will use DX6/OpenGL/large textures...Glide will slowly fade away. A little company in Redmond Wa will make sure of that...."

So...here you're saying that none of the hot games of the future will use any of the features that are specific to Glide, or perhaps you're saying that Microsoft will demand that the hot games must use large textures. Perhaps, both. Perhaps Microsoft will withhold licensing of Windows 98 to OEMs if they sell any hardware that supports Glide. It seemed to work well against Netscape...I got it now, consumers will swerve away from all those games that have the 3Dfx logo on them because in Windows 98, OSR1 the licensing agreement from MSFT will state quite clearly that the user is not allowed to use software or hardware supporting Glide. The branding that was an advantage to 3Dfx will turn into a negative and just in time for the Xmas sales boom.

I'll guess that you'll also agree that there isn't a buyer for the improved 2D performance that Banshee has over S3 and that none of the other graphics core vendors have any products in the pipeline that will beat the performance of Savage 3D. It's also seems pretty clear that Intel will stop dumping the 740 and probably even get out of the graphics business by the end of the year, since the only card that anyone will buy, OEMs or consumers, will be Savage. The good news is that all the graphics card manufacturers can return to high profitability because the only card they need to develop/produce will be one with a graphics core from S3.

SIII has made a real coup! Congratulations and thanks for helping us all out here.

Regards,
Jim

P.S. I thought that TDFX share value was doing badly until I took a look at the 52 week of SIII and their balance sheet. You would have thought that after the crellis reviews on the 9th and 10th that the stock would have shot through the roof. Damn market! The idiots can't seem to see the obvious...that you and Larry share.

again, stop thinking like a gamer and act like an invstor. YOu are an investor, right?

Competition is and will be everywhere but TDFX has a name and that name will only be ignored when the competition introduces something so revolutionary rather than just working off the v-2 success. THis wont happen until next year, and im betting it will be the rampage.

Stop with the intel or microsoft buzz words. If you buy a v-2, go to buy software, right now you will be happy that you have glide. Am I wrong? and I hardly believe for a second that microsoft can ignore TDFX. As the leader, Microsoft will only benefit by working for our audience. S3? come on already...

so letsee what we have here. DIMD is the place to invest even tho they cant turn a profit on fantastic revenues, S3 will be microsofts next pet, intel will crush TDFX with their next chip, Banshee will be a failure because all the oems who are using the v-2 will surely ignore the banshee for no good reason, and our business plan just dosn't exist.

These were all concerns we had 3-6 months ago. The answers are coming out with each passing day and for longs the picture is starting to get clear again. Investing in TDFX over the next year is a VERY safe investment and the market will reflect this once the analysts can seperate TDFX from the has beens that seem to be everywhere.

...as an investor, the hardest thing to do is learn when you made a mistake and take a loss/move on. Despite 2 months of horrendous market activity in TDFX, not a single fact stood out to make me change my long position. We have been dragged down by lockup shares, followed by a sector break down, uncertaintity, and than the momentum players shorting the hell out of us. Fact is, the only thing that upset me was that the management took to long to react to the markets perception. Watch how they word the forward statements next week. If they paint the same picture they did at the shareholders meeting, this stock will start its climb back to and above the 52 week high.

VERY excited about next week. Just in time too, as the market is shifting and buyers are searching for 'steals'.
