It would, indeed, represent the greatest irony of the modern age, would it not, if the worst fears of the gloomiest Y2K prophets came to pass and only the technologically denied Amish were to survive unaffected and unafflicted. Verily, given that worst case scenario, one could imagine a stream of hapless, helpless, and desperate information age dependents making the pilgrimage to Amish strongholds to learn the archaic non-electrified ways of living. Thus, take heart and chastise not, O King. One day, you may thank your backward subjects for holding to the old paths and preserving the ancient knowledge through their gen- erations.
