Sorry Pierre, I was away from SI for the past few days and missed this question.

I believe the wide spread is due to a peculiar situation happening over the past few days. It appears that most of the selling is "professional", i.e., someone with a bunch of shares is dribbling them into the market. The buying looks to be of the retail type. They - the market makers - won't give the seller the advantage of a high bid price no matter what the buying generates. Until that selling is done, we'll stay in this mode.

Yes, this inhibits day trading but there hasn't been much of that happening since we were in the $2 range. There are some short term investors and always have been but not many day traders in this stock. You may not agree but we need day traders to get this price back up and to generate the volume necessary for that to happen. However, they're not coming back until a "big" announcement of a major happening with TPI. Most of the serious day traders I know have switched to Small Cap and NMS stocks and are staying totally away from the Bulletin Board. There are just too many strange pumps and dumps going on for people that make their living from day trades. Much more could be said on this subject but I'll spare you. <grin>
