If you bought 1000 shares od CSCO 8 years ago and held it tight during its ups and downs, totay , that 1000 shares can be sold to the market for 6 millions dollars.

If you bought 1000 shares of MSFT, in Aug 1996 , and hold it for the past two years, the original investment of $30000 is now worth $120000, and if you have the patience to hold it for anothr 5 years, that 1000 shares bought in Aug., 1996 will worth a total of more than 1 million.

Well steve and Mark,

Thanks a lot for the advice. You see if I have the option of leaving my Cpq shares untouched, I would have done so. My only problem is I desperately need my money from compaq by late October at the most.
I hope that I will get out even from Cpq because I think it is a great company and and by the time I will enter again, it will probably be 100/share after a 2 for 1 split!

Well I guess I will take my chances but 29.5 seems pretty good stop loss to me, since I don't want to see 20's again. I really believe that compaq will come out with better than break-even quarter but if they really blew it, I hope that they don't become a falling star!!
