I, too, am heavily long on both WCOM and MCIC. Those projections of 65 in 12 months and 100 by Y2000 sound great, but after the consummation of the merger, WCOM has much digesting to do to blend two diverse cultures into one hard-driving aggregate. There are always present the danger of unpleasant earnings surprises.

Given the hyper nature of today's markets, and the unreasonably optimistic expectations of some analysts, I fear that any earnings disappointment could cause a serious setback to WCOM price. Let's hope that Ebbers, Sedgemore and Co. hedge their earnings estimates to the Street and discourage wild whisper numbers.
