Both of these (reports and account updates) are not uncommon for online brokerages. The reports are often held up by the Market Maker and clearing house not the brokerage. Almost all brokerages update at the end of the day since they have to anyway for Federal Margin compliance requirement verification. If they updated intraday, daytraders who may exceed margin requirements during the course of the day would be screaming.

Does anyone have data as to the approximate date Softbank acquired a percentage of Yahoo, and what effect it had on the stock price (ex. time frame vs. percent gain)? I'm guessing but would the Softbank buy at $25.5 share price establish a near term average price at about the $25.5 per share level after the excitement slows down?

I've waited up to an hour after a trade for a message a trade was done.

Yeah, I know. But it only happens once in a while. (And Discover is the same thing...)

Then it takes a
whole day to update my account.

I understand this is te same with every on-line broker. It certainly is with Discover.

I have used 3 different on-line brokers, and heard my friends complain about the others, and I believe that etrade is among the best. (Even with the glitches that we have to suffer daily) :>

I have been very impressed with E*Trade's executions. They seem to make good and quick trades for me. I have been pleasantly surprised more than once where I have improved a limit order with their assistance.
I receive prompt affirmation on trades. It is true that my account is not updated until the following morning but that is no problem because I know the trades that have been completed for the day.
On balance I would give E*Trade a 9 for the way they have dealt with me and handled my trades and accounts.
Best wishes, Frank
