Don-

I should have clarified, the portion of the fund I co-manage is DEFINATELY not invested in RACE...if it had (or was) I'd be out of a job. I'm sorry I got a little testy with you, in all honesty I'm just a little suspicious of anyone still trying to "defend" RACE...though i shouldn't be...you have every right to hold your opinion. Keeping this professional, I have not personally seen a demo of RACE's product but a good friend of mine went to one of the early expo's (1997?), though i understand it's even improved since then. I have never disputed the technology, though Rod's (et al) comments about RACE missing the IP deal has merit. THE point in business IS NOT the mousetrap, DON, which IS precisely why ROD is an idiot who got lucky. Drakes, and others who shorted on fundamentals are the prescient ones, as this financing spiral that has taken us down was forseable to all (including us!). Before ROD crucifies me, I should add that the reason the technology is irrelevent is because there are a million examples of inferior technology becoming standard with a great sales force, strategy, partnership, etc. so simply comparing one tech with another and trying to "guess" which will prevail leads to results like we have here...some are lucky and some are not...rod was lucky (if indeed, he ever had the guts to put his money where his mouth was, which, he probably did not). My opinion on RACE, therefore, as it has been for some time, is I could care less whether they are tying together legacy systems or using propritary blah, blah, blah, but WHO are they partnering with to formulize a standard (note:resellers are NOT partners contrary to the opinion of this thread) and Why haven't they replaced they're sales staff? What STRATEGIC reason did they have for focusing on indirect channels? Money? 'Cause that's a BAD reason. What are they're goals for marketing? For PR? For IR? They've made SO MANY mistakes (remember the Journal ads last year?) and the comments from BEN in June, 1997? that it boggles the mind why shareholders haven't asked them to begin night school for an MBA...nevertheless, things can ALMOST always turnaround provided you have money, hell I stil hold TEALE 'cause they have $12 Million in cash despite the same bad mistakes! But, alas, RACE doesn't even have that anymore and NO ONE (from an island or otherwise) is going to be willing to change that, as they must be a going concern to short the stock....

Anyway, good luck to you Don...sorry for the misunderstanding:-))
