LET'S START SPECULATING ABOUT THE "MARTINI PROJECT"!

Since the shareholders meeting confirmed that something is up, what blockbuster of a product could CS put out in the next 6 months that would leap-frog the competition?!

My thinking is that it is related to the coming wave of cable modems and cable-ready PC's! What about a cable switch or router for the ISP's? Or how about a "super switch" that handles EVERYTHING (10/100/1000 ethernet, ATM, Cable, FR, etc.), and is expandable and upgradeable!!! I think CS would do VERY well to go for the home-run instead of bunting like most analyst are expecting! Time to produce a "Cisco-Killer" product...this is no AMD vs INTC, this is DOABLE!!!

Speculations anyone?!

$tar.

ps. Totally agree on averaging down in the oil sector...hell, at these prices we're actually talking about growth stocks!:-)

at the very least, if you are compelled to speak OFF TOPIC please post it that way. This has been an excellent thread and it would be great if we can keep it a CS thread.

OT...Dear Harold: I usually don't flame others on SI...but in this case, I'll make an exception.

For someone who professes to be a CS guru to the point of attending the annual meeting, and yet confesses that "a lot" of the product discussion went, for the most part, right "over your head," [your post # 4376: "Sorry I couldn't be more factual but a lot of the specific product info from the shareholder meeting went right over my head"] demonstrates how little your incessant chatter contributes to this thread. In short, you probably do not know what you are talking about, so you putter around this thread as if you have nothing better to do. Why, pray tell, discuss oil stocks on this thread? Why not use the tools provided to you by SI for this purpose? Or are they, too, "over your head"?

Admittedly, this post does not heed my own admonition to take "off topic" discussions somewhere else. But since you published your missive to me on the thread, I feel compelled to publish this one to you.

I will, however, take one piece of advice proffered: I will hit the "next" button in the future when I see a post you have authored. Nonetheless, best wishes for success as an investor.

i agree, a little ot in the thread is healthy and keeps us going and people with the thread and watching cs when we have little/zero news. i enjoy the off topic banter. who knows martini may be cs purchasing an oil company.

we just had people such as yourself post about the shareholders meeting, and i will also express my thank you to all who posted and attended. you even gave me a call from the shareholder meeting so i could give a synopsis to the group asap.
