John,

Might I suggest trying this for a bit first.

auditrade.com

If you access through the CME site most fees are waived for the first month. Pretty good deal and it allows you to really get your feet wet with order entry, errors and the timing differential between paper trading and electronic paper trading.

Yes, a day with a teacher once in a while could keep you sharp.

A lot of guys who are good like to teach because in turn it keeps them sharp.

Different guys do different stuff and teach differently. Some take large groups; I think the smaller ones are better.

Either way; it's a good way to pick up ideas as well as to learn techniques for discipline.
