Note that no reason for his departure was given in the press release. I think if Hansen had any pending problems with the lawsuits, his departure would have been couched in terms of leaving to "pursue personal interests", "spend more time with his family" etc. and that he wouldn't have had a new, essentially equivalent, position nailed down when he left. What company would want to hire a VP/CFO if it thought he had a serious cloud over his head from his former firm?

I think Mr. Hansen's departure stems from one of two causes: either he wants out before more bad news hits us, or he was squeezed out for being at fault or as a scapegoat for mismanaging analyst guidance. I really hope it was the latter.

Make no mistake,

The CFO was booted, canned, don't let the door hit on the a** on your way out. This must have been in process for some time, especially considering his insider sales record over the past few months. Appearances can be deceiving, and ADPT seems to know quite a bit about appearances. I would surprised if he is the last to go.

The rumor mill is swirling regarding INTC, even on INTC thread. There just seems to be too much logical sense (sans FTC) to ignore. As I have said before, an independent ADPT is in the shareholders' best interest. However, I would imagine that there are many who would prefer a nice immediate "pop" to recoup their losses. Enough about this, not likely, although a strategic alliance could be a big win-win.

So what about July 23? The deviation in earnings estimates on this thread thus far seems to correlate well with the indecisiveness with the market with respect to ADPT. Short term outlook appears scary, given the degree of institutional ownership, and I suppose a long term outlook is required. Once bitten, twice shy.

Viva ADPT.
