Peter, Despite what a few here and on Yahoo would like the others to believe, your view and mine about open dialogue being constructive is shared by others.

With the authorization of the author, here is a copy of just one message I've received on the points you raise.

Mark,

I've read your posts, both here and on SI, and have been long Valence for over two years. While it's not enjoyable hearing the downside to an investment I've put real money on, I am glad you post. I am surprised by the vitriol which seems to be growing on the SI thread. It's gets us nowhere. I am dismayed that several posters are going out of their way to silence you (FMK included. Hell, I don't know who this guy is as nobody out there knows who
I am.). As an investor, I want to know what everyone which some sense thinks of security and why. Your posts have opened my eyes although not happily. Continue the work.

Thanks,

Talked to a salesman from Red Chip newsletter today as he wanted me to renew my trial subscription. I told him I only got the trial to follow Valence and wasn't going to renew. He told me they are coming out with a 2 page report on Valence this Friday afternoon. I don't know if it is a recommendation but I assume it is since a few months ago they dropped coverage. We shall see. I'll post information when I get it.

Peter- my concern is that Mark V suddenly appeared and caused panic selling just before the conference call when the things turned out not to be so bad after all. We know he was light on his research, such as not being aware of the 1.5 million share Bellcore ownership in Valence. IMO many long time holders may have given up just before long-awaited positive developments. As was pointed out- the 10k disclaimers he amplified were about the same as the year before and applied to the period ending March 31. Those who sold out can re-evaluate and get back in, of course, but we could have a run-up that would make it expensive, especially having sold at 4 3/4 - now 5 x 5 1/8.

"Apparently, it is a known fact of the psychology of investing that the intensity and depth of dissatisfaction of losing money is a much stronger feeling than the joy derived from winning an equal amount of money. These feelings certainly contribute to the resentment towards those with contrarian viewpoints such as Mr. V."

I know this must be true and I have tried hard to empathize in that regard. I'm being honest in admitting that the personal attacks make it hard to empathize too long. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone loses money at some point in the market. No one is a fool because they lost money in an investment. Just as true is the point that no one ever was hurt by looking for weaknesses in their investment theory.

The resentment with Mr. V. is not the negative things he is saying regarding VLNC. It's just his antagonistic manner, which leads me to believe that he is a very good attorney.

The practice of law has less to do with truth and justice than with perception, because that is all that matters when the vote(s) is(are) cast. The law profession operates in the interface between "rock-hard", "iron-clad" words and the subjective human experience. Obviously, words are not rock-hard and nor is the human experience, and that leaves a mushy ground where lawyers play. What is rock-hard are the steel bars that slam shut when the game is lost, and that is what gives the practice of law it's skeletal form and cause for one's knees to knock.

And what this has to do with VLNC, I haven't the foggiest notion. Geez, look at the time stamp. Perhaps this hour of insomnia is over and it's time to go back to bed and dream about batteries. In the morning I can wonder how I can come up with such inane stuff.
