I have a feeling that the only people who know the Q3 details are just Steve and Fred Anderson. Hogwash. You think Fred and Steve are responsible for gathering all the numbers and entering them into the accounting system at Apple? No, rather Fred has a legion of little minions responsible for all the info gathering and input, and I can assure you they know some things too. All it takes is for one of them to be a source or talk to a friend that is. I agree that rumors are just that until reported, but if you think Fred and Steve are the only ones in the know, then you're very naive about how accounting works in large company and the ease with which information can leak.
