"Don't count on it. As Edderd has explained, many of the psycogenic cases will eventually fail once the placebo effect wears off."

Vlad, a patient with a placebo effect will have erections with Viagra, eventually that patient will stop using Viagra because he will realized he gets erections without Viagra, so he will be technically "cure" and will not need ahything else. Pfizer will loss that patient.

A true ED patient that responds to Viagra (30% to 40% of true organic ED) will stay happy on Viagra until further deterioration of the ED (years) or side effects get him out.

Viagra failures (most of them organic ED) will probably try something else like Muse or Caverjet.

Many of the new Vivus patients will come from the new Viagra patients, not from the refill group.

Pfizer is lucky, they will get many patients that do not need any medications: the placebo group.

What Edderd means is that this placebo group will wear off viagra, not that the placebo effect will wear off.
