If you look close at ASND's numbers without the charges for buying CSCC, they didn't do anywhere near as bad as the supposed 2, 3, and 4 rated networkers. Owning both CSCO and ASND, I don't mind seeing both do well. Lucent may be a factor, but who really cares? If they acquire ASND, CSCO will have a formidable foe in the future. I don't think LU can beat CSCO with their present setup. ASND doing well gives Chambers reason to remain nervous which has caused CSCO to continue to put pressure on themselves. That has meant good things for us longs.

Try the GX550 and the Core Switch group of products at Ascend Communications. Up 23.4% over last Quarter, in the most recent period. Ol' Mory is still there because he saw the light and bought Cascade.

Every good sailor knows how to tack to use the wind. Mory has changed directions three or four times to keep ASND's sails full. Which has caused ASND's resultant growth.
