Yes, I was liquidating on the way up, but I not as much (from the benefit of hindsight) as I should have, partly because the same wife hates paying taxes, and every time I liquidated 1,000 shares she focussed more on what we would be giving straight to the government than what we would be keeping (my basis was virtually nil, so the whole thing was taxable capital gains). The psychology of investing is indeed a strange thing!
