<< Who? Any specific names of companies? Do these companies have web sites? Do you know anything about their products? Do they have any alliances with Echelon or other companies comprable to Motorola? >>

There are indeed several companies that provide products and services that seems to offer the same kind of functionality as Alya's p&s.
You can find out more by reading all the case studies and list of partners and Longworks'members on the Echelon site. There are a few cases in the building security market.

The problem, as TLWatson says, is to clearly established that Alya's has the lead. I have not been able to established that yet. It is true that WIN NT is now the defacto standard and that the fact that OpenCortex and therefore OpenCentrix have been developed to support that platform is a major plus. But again is that enough. In the case studies mentioned above, there is at least one case of an integrater doing work on Win NT. IMHO, it is extremely difficult to position properly Alya's products in this market, unless you really do a full evaluation of their products and those of the competitions..

OTOH, the facility and success Alya has in recruting strong distributors worldwide speak for themself. These distributors are not entering agreements like that to distribute Alya's products, if the same products are not at the forefront of this market sector. So, I have to disagree with TLWatson on this, Alya's products and services have to be more than a cheap solution.

Still the stock is down 50% from the prices a couple of months ago. So there is a reason for this. And it is not only because of the market makers.

I am holding long for the moment even if I have a 30% loss on this investment.

I'm surprised about his Echelon IPO comment. As far as can be researched, Alya is the only North American publicly traded growth company with LonWorks technology and its niche in security field with no competition (without taking into account the likes of bluechips like Motorola).

The only other example I've seen is TBTI which has just adopted Lonworks and it seems to be a completely different product (I believe it is some handheld unit sold for over $200 or so). Yes, our friend points out that others may decide to enter the market. That is an insightful revelation about a technology that is setting the standard! NOT!

Thanks for asking him for names. I am a little tired of his constant innuendo to scare people without providing any real facts. He is good at planting doubts, but when you reread his comments you realize he has said nothing of substance. Why? because he knows nothing of substance.

IMO, when the Echelon IPO comes out and I understand it is a hot issue, investors may be looking around for a baby LonWorks situation, and we will be here waiting for them to discover us. FWIW
