The Conese deal is dead. My source is a Dow Jones New Service story dated July 16, 1998. It's copyrighted, so I'm going to paraphrase it. If you want the original, go to the Wall Street Journal's Publication Library, and do a search for Conese (headlines are free, but articles cost you $2.95).

The article says that AUGI terminated the March 24 securities purchase agreement, in which Conese Enterprises was to invest between $4 and $5.5 million in AUGI preferred shares.

The reason given was that the two parties couldn't reach mutually acceptable terms.

The article then stated that three of the seven AUGI directors have resigned for personal reasons.

Well, Connectsoft is gone (with one big salary). Hopefully, the shares will be worth something. We are trading under book. Anybody want to scrape up some money, buy the co, and sell off the pieces?
