i don't know if i would trust the analysis, i've learned in the past that the analysts are not always right, and sometimes they seem to say things ahead of good news so that major clients get in or add more of the stock at a lower price. notice that the article says that Intermedia is still popular with institutional investors(!) and sell-side analysts (what ever they are). i personally don't trust the article, because it was written in a very one-dimensional/ one-sided point of view, and the author really did not support his view with anything other than the opinions of a few analysts. the point about the restructuring with the layoff of 7% of the workforce being "unusual" for a growth company is weak. i have a lot more respect for the growth company that will cut out some unnecessary positions after a couple of major acquisitions. this means that the company is aware of its cost structure, and is willing to correct itself when necessary. then to compare CLEC's to internet stocks is not really fair. CLEC's are competing in an established market, and even if they are not profitable yet they can at least be judged by their cash flow, where as internet stocks are just going up for no reason, except whether or not they have the capacity to be portal sights. besides, who exactly are the customers of these websites? at least ICIX can say it has contracts for service with for example, the state of Florida. sorry for the rant, jethro
