Slider, All of what you say about LT in your post may be true, but I think that you should keep in mind that in the past LT has contributed articles to this thread such as the following: ----------------------------------------------- 1) On Empire's call of $12-$10 oil:Message 3613871 To: HEYWARD HODGES (13800 ) From: Lucretius Taurus Thursday, Mar 5 1998 4:04PM EST Reply #13803 of 14235 Oh no, I can't believe you're quoting Empire! That guy has had it wrong more times than right. He was calling for the drillers to eat it all last yr, until he finally gave in and bought CDG in late Oct! How much worse can your timing be. he's what I call a permabear on crude. i would take everything he says w/ a grain of salt (make that a full shaker of salt) As far as, what he's "hearing", I think the guy is full of crap, cause I'm not hearing anything like that and I talk to Texaco and Exxon crude traders. Not to mention the fact that the guy spends all of his waking hours arguing w/ that other Bigjet guy. Both seem to act like little kids trading insults in every post. Look like a couple of teenagers to me. -Lucretius 2) hope everyone realizes, crude is bottoming, going up from here:Message 3642934 To: Baird Soule (14096 ) From: Lucretius Taurus Sunday, Mar 8 1998 7:05PM ET Reply #14108 of 25839 Baird, oil is in the process of bottoming. While the drillers may not vault up from here, I think most investors now invloved w/ the stocks realize the story and will not be selling on every downtick in crude. We've seen the bottom in drillers. When crude has bottomed and begins a new uptrend, multiples on drillers will expand again. Until then, it will be slow going but up, nevertheless. Wait till early May when crude will stabilize, then the drillers will catch fire once again and the airlines will begin their slow death. -Lucretius ------------------------------------------ I think that if you bear in mind LT's posts such as these, you will understand why many people here consider him to be a valuable contributor to this thread and look to him for sound and timely investment advice and guidance.
