Jim, If it wasn't for IBM, Intel and MSFT might be nothing but specks on the horizon. When Compaq reverse engineered IBMs code...Pandoras box was opened. If anyone brought down IBM it was IBMs stupidity, Compaq and Microsoft not Intel.

I agree, hence my statement: IBM looked like a brain-dead giant.
But IBM's stupidity was compounded by Intel and MSFT superb business and technical skills. They made IBM's ineptness glaringly apparent.

Yes Jimbo, I am old enough to remember first hand. I didn't have to read about it.
