Datek is, IMHO the best online web-browser based brokerage firm for OCCASIONAL investors. In fact, I visited the folks at Island when I was in New York City a few weeks ago. They have an impressive operation, and I have a great deal of respect for Josh Levine and Will Sterling, who I spent a bit of time with when I was there. My previous comment was geared toward those who are active traders...40+ transactions per month. For these types, Datek falls short because it does not offer SelectNet, SuperDot and SOES (well, probably not SOES with the new rule changes). These tools are an absolute necessity for active traders.
