OT

I thought you meant a real ice box. I have not seen one of those since I was a kid.

Nope. Mine is 10 years old and works fine. 8 seems too soon for it to fail. If it is making a racket then perhaps the compressor threw a bearing, but 46 degrees does not sound overly warm.

Seems more likely the milk stayed out for awhile.

EDIT For the record mine is an Amana. But I'm one of those "You see it, you like it, you buy it" guys.

Hi Nemer,..***Off Topic***

We have a 10 year old Kitchen Aide which is unfortunately working great.<VBG>

I'm sure what Marilyn would really like would be a Sub Zero since they fit right in with the cabinet depth and are really, really nice, not only in looks but internal workings too. In school, (late at age 36 and being the only girl), the professor said in front of the whole thermo class about how wives never vacuum the fridge vents but he was certain that I did since I was in that class! No where to hide - not only the only female but more than 10 years older than all the guys!! So whatever one you get, remember to keep the vent clean.<VVBG> Is that your job?<GG>

Regards,

Lee

Nemer: purchased a Whirlpool 9 years ago. Works great. It has been move from So CA to No CA and then down to Texas. With the quality of movers these days, says a lot for the "Icebox".

Got it a Circuit City. Guaranteed low price.

Looked at Sears, their boxes made by GE and others. However, Sears cost more money, for basically same product.

PS: I think with a whirlpool you can wash your clothes in it too!
