Slider, I sent you a priv message earlier this afternoon after being "alerted" to the mischief you were causing over here, but I just got a look at this post in its full entirety and what can I say... LOL!! You're a funny guy. Now that the day is done, and I have a little time I thought we'd walk through it just for laughs and additionally becaus ei htink you're giving some very stupid and uninformed advice to people and I would't wnat them to think my absence was a "justifying" of that advice. We'll take it in blocks so as not confuse you: (all this just so you know I can "joke" around too and have a sense of humor of course) BTW- whoever pulled up those old posts has way too much time n his hands. Perhaps he should start a "LT HATE THREAD" so he can take out his frustrations? <<<<<<<<<<Read the dates on these posts; he could not have been more wrong or ill-timed. He was discounting the obvious at the time; that there was a significant change occurring in the supply/demand curve in crude. As I mentioned, I took the later March sell off as the first ''dip'' upon which to make my initial buys into the oil sector. Looneytoonius is making my case about market timing ! - Right here, just a week or so prior to the BIG March sell off, the great Looneytoonius makes a great ''trader-market timer'' call and suggests buying (timing) into this sector right now! Not off the big January sell off that we just recovered from ( I again say buy on the 20% + major dip/selloffs like Jan or March ) but right there on the date of his post! - on March 5th and 8th ; he's of course buying on momentum as the patch had made a nice run up from the January sell off; if you heeded Looneytoonius's advice on March 5th & 8th --- you got SLAUGHTERED immediately on the March selloff ! - same as on his directive to ''wait untill May'' ...proves my point... buy/average down on major dips and don't try to ''time'' or trade in & out of the market ... Where was Luc during the ''no-brainer'' buying opportunities of the sell offs in January , March, late June or this past monday ? - was he screaming BUY ? - hell no, he was a bear at the alltime 52 week low ! I rest my case !>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Couldn't have been more wrong, eh? I owned Noble Drilling (NE) for 3 years before I sold it recently. I added to it at $23 and $24 in Jan of this year, and I posted when I started buying. (go find it if you want to waste your time) I INCORRECTLY was bullish all thru Oct and thru April? (I can't remember when I started selling but it was over a week's time when NE was between 32 and 34) I kept holding all of it because I felt things would turn sooner rather than later.... I was WRONG! I did advise against buying at certain points because I felt we were going lower, and WE DID.. believe me, I wish I had been wrong I would have been alot wealthier. While I sold calls all during that 5 month period from Oct, I still took losses from the peak. Mkts change minute by minute, I adapt. No sense in locking yourself into a losing position as you find out more info. that is contrary to your views. I'm still bullish L-T on this sector, I just they're going lower in the S-T and it is WAY TOO early to start buying. Now we get to the good stuff........... on the subject of ''clueless'' per your post; I again rest my case. If you think Looky-Luc has a clue ......buy some gold, short the DOW to his call of 4000 and build a bombshelter ! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<You don't get it do you ? Looneytoonius Taurus flip-flops back and forth more often than a cheap screen door in an West Texas breeze.... this guy just pulls things out of his ass and throws it out there....from his ''Son of Sam'' talking Dog ''inside info'' from his crude trading buddies at Texxaco & Exxon (really the gas jockeys at the full service pump) to his DOW 4000 - '' the world is coming to an end ''GoldBug'' pronouncements to his ''360'' spins & ill-timed shoot from the hip; occassional bullish statement; .... this guy has no consistancy ! He has no foundation of a core philosphy or strategy; he never quotes mathematical statistics or actual company numbers - this guy is a ''chat room'' kook; blowing gobblydeegook out his ass on a daily basis & wayyyyy to many people think this guy belongs walking the streets; let alone listen to a word he says....... ?!?...on the subject of ''clueless'' per your post; I again rest my case. If you think Looky-Luc has a clue ......buy some gold, short the DOW to his call of 4000 and build a bombshelter !>>>>>>>>>>>>>> There's really not much to say about this trash except that I have never endorsed shorting the S&P's or the DOW. My end scenario (if it happens that is since I have been known to be wrong) calls for a continued crash-up to maybe DOW 10,000 or 9900.. who knows? And then the fun starts. Could start next week or the 1st of Aug, but I think it will begin soon. These things are hard to predict w/ any accuracy.. you just know they will happen w/in a certain time period. As for Japan and gold. Hey man, I have a belief that they are going higher.... so far Japan is doing very nicely since I started buying a few months ago (NEAR THE BOTTOM) and I have recently added more. I also bought some to early, but now I'm basically back to even on that. Once they elect a new PM, and I know who he is, I may buy alot more. As for gold, it has been a disapointment so far as it has remained relatively flat ($290-$300) This will change as interest rates move up and the equities mkt tanks. Note the recent triple top in the dollar. Foreigners have already started selling bonds ( that's what's happening when interest rates move up like they have for the last 4 days in a row). The dominoes are starting to fall IMO. Next block of your trash: <<<<<Looneytoonius Taurus flip-flops back and forth more often than a cheap screen door in an West Texas breeze.... this guy just pulls things out of his ass and throws it out there....from his ''Son of Sam'' talking Dog ''inside info'' from his crude trading buddies at Texxaco & Exxon (really the gas jockeys at the full service pump) to his DOW 4000 - '' the world is coming to an end ''GoldBug'' pronouncements to his ''360'' spins & ill-timed shoot from the hip; occassional bullish statement; .... this guy has no consistancy ! I do not follow crude minute by minute or have intimate knowledge of its daily swings. Obviously they were wrong back then along w/ 99% of the other oil traders in the world that simply sold forward to hedge production as prices continued to drop. Next block: <<<<<<<<PS: please do not fail to understand that I'm laughing my ass off while typing this post; I welcome Luc to post whenever he wants - my responses to opposing views WILL NOT be a regular occurrence and will end here shortly - so eveyone feel free to ''be as bearish as you wanna be'', but if you post gibberish & psychobabble garbage -- pleaseeeeeee do NOT think it will go unchallenged ! I'll be the first to buy Luc a drink on the Rig party...guys; this ain't life & death this should be fun and light hearted.... some people do not like Rush Limbaugh, James Cramer or Howard Stern (not that I'm a fan of Howard - not) --- they don't get the ''tongue in cheek'' factor ... So ; lets not take ourselves or each other tooo serious; Okay Looceyloo ?...come on Luc; play fair -your oppening salvo was to that Slider Assh#l$@... who started ''nasty'' ''(and I'm sure not going to bother sitting around here and defending myself when someone starts getting nasty) '' ...should read when I'm brought to my knees after shooting from the hip - I exit.>>>>>>>> If this is your idea of fun and games, I suggest you A) grow up, B) research what someone actually said and did before you blast them C) research the 5000 other posts on this thread back when it started so you'll know what that person was saying then and now. That way, you'll have a better perspective of things and won't go running off your mouth and appearing so stupid. All in fun of course! -Lucretius BTW- I guess I lied when I said I wouldn't respond to you over here anymore, but after this winner of a post of yours... you hooked me (nice one!) I'll now leave you guys in peace and head back to my Looney bin (ggg)
