Jim you are one of the most pessimistic guys I have ever come across. I hope you wife is an optimist, cause otherwise your new little girl is going to get an awfully sour life view.

There was a poem -- I've forgotten the author and the exact words, but the lines are something like this (with lots of paraphrasing):

bullets hurt,
gas stinks,
nooses pinch,
might as well live.

History - 3 Bull markets to 1 Bear market. Overall all, trend is UP, or is the DJ average really a (minus) ~9000?
