I think Claflin was already talking to 3COM when he made that comment about not wanting to move to Houston back in April. It might have been a smoke screen. He probably got a huge severance package from DEC/Compaq. He would have received nothing if he simply resigned and went to 3COM. 3COM is lucky to get Bruce Claflin. I work at DEC/Compaq and have seen Claflin at work. He is very smart, decisive, and a superb communicator. He knows marketing and operations very well. Don
